StoryCorps is a fantastic organization that aims to give every American the chance to record their personal stories. So far, their archive includes over 40,000 interviews and can be heard on NPR's Morning Edition, as well as their website.
I've enjoyed their work for a while, but just thought to post about them now because they have just released one of their animated stories on Youtube. These animated visualizations of these people's stories add a lot of depth and are extremely moving to watch. Here is their most recent video as well as a couple of my favorites. If you get the chance, though, all of the videos on their Youtube are heartwarming and absolutely worth watching.
StoryCorps encourages people to take part in the National Day of Listening on November 23rd by either recording a story of your own or listening to some they have already.
