Grimm Google Doodle

I feel like I keep posting Google Doodles, but I can't help it... They keep churning them out really cool. Here's the one for the 200th anniversary of Grimm's Fairy Tales, illustrating the story of Little Red Riding Hood. The graphics are simple, yet expressive and a lot of fun. The artist's non-violent solution to the ending is also pretty funny.

Check it out here.

Hilarious Illustrations by Nacho Díaz Arjona

This is some work by hilarious and talented t-shirt illustrator Nacho Díaz Arjona. He seems to love taking everyday objects and situations and putting them into bizarre situations. His portfolio is a perfect combination of cuteness and morbidity... but always funny.

Edit: Mac fans will appreciate this new one.

More Mondo Posters

Dracula

Over a year ago, I posted some movie posters from Mondo Tees. They get a lot of requests for special release posters and the results are fantastic. Their illustrations are wonderfully textural, detailed, and elegant and the typography can get pretty interesting as well. For instance, I love the shapes of the letters in the above Dracula poster. Below is more of their recent work since last year's post.

Melancholia

The Avengers (Black Widow)

The Dark Knight Rises

ParaNorman

Looper

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Treebeard)

Paranormal Activity 4

My Neighbor Totoro

Eric Seitz's ABCinema

Here's more ABCs animation work from Eric Seitz. This series's theme is movies and each one arranges the films using different categories: alphabetical order, references to color, geographical references, and numerals. All the animations and transitions are expertly done, and, like the Alphagames video, a lot of fun. Can you figure out all the films included (Cheat sheet after the jump)?

More from Studio On Fire

Last month I posted about a promotional piece by Studio On Fire, a design and letterpress studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their work is phenomenal and often has a nice layering effect thanks to their 18 Heidelberg letterpresses. There is also a fantastic tactile quality to their works in their choices of paper and card stock and the interactive nature of designs such as the ones I've posted here.
